Jeffrey Markello


Jeffrey Markello is a native of East Aurora, NY and graduate of the University of Rochester (1987) and the State University of New York Buffalo School of Law (1990).

Having litigated hotly contested personal injury, family law, and other civil and criminal cases throughout his career, Jeff is also trained in the principals of mediation and collaborative law. His practice is focused on helping clients resolve their legal disputes in the most effective manner to suit their individual needs.

Serving as Aurora Town Judge since 2009 and Associate Village Justice in Springville since 2017, Jeff regularly adjudicates both criminal and civil matters. He has also served as an interim Town Justice in the Town of Colden.

Jeff has been appointed by New York State Supreme and Family Court Judges to serve as Court Evaluator, Referee, Guardian Ad Litem, Attorney for Children or Incapacitated Persons, and he also served as a Buffalo City Court Small Claims Hearing Officer for more than 10 years.

He has continuously been a member in good standing with the Bars of both New York State and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 1991, and is an active member of the Bar Association of Erie County.

Jeff is past President of the WNY Collaborative Law Professionals, Ltd. (www.divorce-buffalo.com), and served on the Criminal Justice Program Advisory Committee for ITT Technical Institute. As associate counsel and closing agent for title insurance purposes, he oversees the firmís busy real estate practice which involves closing both commercial and residential transactions.

He and his wife are raising their children in East Aurora where he previously served on the East Aurora Board of Education for 9 years from 1993-2002, as Aurora Town Prosecutor and Deputy Town Attorney for 7 years from 2002-2009, and as the Sardinia Town Prosecutor from 2006-2009.

Giving back to the community through charitable work, Jeff serves as a Trustee on the Foundation Boards for SASi (Suburban Adult Services), East Aurora Educational Foundation, and the East Aurora Rotary for which he is also a past President.
